On their self-titled album they blended quirky prog rock with lush harmonies and scored hits with the offbeat song "Nice, Nice, Very Nice" (with lyrics by Kurt Vonnegut) and the ballad "Holdin' on to Yesterday".

Ambrosia - Somewhere I've Never Travelled

©1976 20th Century T-510
320kbps CD-rip

This is probably one of the best symphonic rock albums of the 70's. It's recorded, mixed and produed by Alan Parsons at Mama Jo's. All members were part of the Alan Parsons Project . It's hard to discribe the album because of the many styles. Where else can you get a baroque theme with 10cc-like vocals, a spanish fandango and ballroom dancing all in one song (Danse with George).

After this album Ambrosius went on as a more AOR band, more hits but less interresting.
