Alice Cooper - Isolated (isolated Instrumental tracks)

This compilation ©2022 AppleCore

Compilation of Alice Cooper songs when Alice Cooper still meant the band and not the person.
The person Alice Cooper has been filtered out as best as possible. Now and then you can still hear some fragments, but in general they have become good instrumental versions. Handy if you do karaoke :-)

01. Today Mueller
02. Reflected
03. Shoe Salesman
04. Beautiful Flyaway
05. Black JuJu
06. Halo Of Flies
07. Desperado
08. Gutter Cat Vs. The Jets
09. Blue Turk
10. Elected

Alice Cooper - School Days (The Early Days)

Warner Bros. 1973 (recorded 1969)
CD-rip 320 Kbps

You have a choice. You can turn me off..
(from "Beautiful Flyaway")

School Days is a compilation of the bands first two albums "Preties For You" and "Easy Action" wich are two of the strangest sounding albums of all time. Highly experimental, psychadelic rock with a twist.

I've read many reviews telling that these albums are bad. Well, if you expect another "School's Out" or "Killer" then you can be dissapointed, I guess. If you're listening with an open mind then you'll discover some great music. There are some great guitar riffs and the lyrics, although incomprehensible most of the times, fit in well.

I've made two changes. 1. I've replaced de lame live version of "Levity Ball" with a much better sounding studio version. 2. I've added the studio version of "Nobody Likes Me" as a bonustrack. This hilarious song (mini-musical!) is recorded in 1969.

Be warned though, these tracks are way different from other Alice Cooper songs. They are so strange you have to hear it for yourself...

tracks: Titanic Overture / Sing Low Sweet Cheerio / Today Mueller / Living / Fields Of Regret / No Longer Umpire / Levity Ball / B.B. On Mars / Reflected / Apple Bush / Earwings To Eternity / Changing, Arranging / Mr. And Misdemeanor / Shoe Salesman / Still No Air / Below Your Means / Return Of The Spiders / Laughing At Me / Refrigerator Heaven / Beautiful Flyaway / Lay Down And Die, Goodbye / Nobody Likes Me

Billion Dollar Babies - Battle Axe

As their former frontman continued his popular theatrical antics, three members of the original band (guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neal Smith) formed the band Billion Dollar Babies, named after the 1973 Alice Cooper album and song. With keyboardist Bob Dolin and guitarist Mike Marconi rounding out the quintet, the band recorded only one album, on which they played straight-ahead rock and roll similar to the music they made with Cooper. Bruce handles vocal duties (as he sometimes did on the first two albums). His voice is less menacing than Cooper's, though he usually sounds like he is mimicking his style. There's nothing great on Battle Axe, but it is consistently energetic and entertaining.

The LP bombed commercially, and the Billion Dollar Babies never recorded a second album. The Battle Axe LP has been out of print since the late 70's and had two (not compleatly legal) CD re-issues, first in 2001 as a rip-off 3 CD-set. That CD was no more than a ripped LP burned onto CD. Second re-issue was in 2004 by C(um) O(n) E(verybody) Records. COE used a good source tape and so their CD is much more enjoyable to listen to (no vinyl ticks and clicks!).

It's here at 320 KB/s, including the original CD artwork.
If you're an early Alice Cooper fan than this is a must have!

Tracklisting: Too Young / Shine Your Love / I Miss You / Wasn't I The One / Love Is Rather Blind / Rock And Roll Radio / Dance With Me / Rock Me Slowly / Ego Mania / Battle Axe (Sudden Death) / Winner

Bruce Cameron
Midnight Daydream
-
Bruce Cameron Music/Brain Cell Records BC001
Released in 1999.
An unknown guitarist Bruce Cameron produced his solo album with a list of 70's musicianswith a classic rock sound. Cameron is joined by featured guest like Jack Bruce from Cream, Buddy Miles, Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell from Jimi Hendrix Experience. Bunk Garner from Mothers of Invention, Billy James of Ant-Bee, Harvey Dalton Arnold from Outlaws and Ken Hensley of Uriah Heap. Two from the Alice Cooper Group, Michael Bruce who does vocals on two tracks and Neal Smith as drummer on five tracks.
This album is pretty good and has gotten good reviews from mostly guitar magazines. Cameron's guitar work is excellent as some of the tracks are instrumental. Cameron wrote, engineered, mixed and produced the whole album.

The two songs Michael Bruce sings and Neal Smith drums on are "I Want To Be Late" and "Falling Up A Mountain" are great. Michael's vocals are superb as he gives a growl on these songs.
Neal Smith also lends his drumming talent on three more tracks "Mind Gardens", "Just Like A Spaceman" and instrumental "She's So Gone". The last song "She's So Gone" is one of the best instrumentals on this album.

It's sad to note that Bruce Cameron died during the release of this album.

Tracks:
"Midnight Daydream" 6:42 / "Doctor Please" 4:52 / "Mind Gardens" 5:24 / "Miles Away" 3:29 / "Born to Lose" 5:32 / "I Want to Be Late" 4:19 / "Forever Rebel Girls" 6:18 /
"Just Like a Spaceman" 3:57 / "So Aliens Have Been Here" 4:25 / "A Thousand Moons" 3:54 / "Raining the Blues" 4:39 / "Day After Yesterday" 3:27 / "Falling Up a Mountain" 4:09 / "She's So Gone" 2:28

NEAL SMITH
Platinum God

In 1976, The Alice Cooperband broke up. Alice made his "Welcome To My Nightmare", Bruce made "In My Own Way" and Neal started recording an album but didn't finish it. And that's a pitty because although it aint as good as Alice's album it's much better than Michael Bruce's. Well, he did finish it in 1999.
Neal gets help from Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce and Mike Marconi. Together they started Billion Dollar Babies, see a previous post. Also playing is long time friend Richie Starlet who also did play at the last concert of Glen Buxton in 1997. Jack Douglas produced the album.

Tracklisting: Maneater, Deadly To Her Prey / Baby, Please Don't Stop / Every Day's A Holyday / French Quarter Cook'in / Rock And Roll Radio / Set Me On Fire / The She's A Maneater / Platinum God

Billion Dollar Babies - Battle Axe

In 1977, three of Alice Cooper's former sidemen recorded a little known album without the influential shock rocker and called themselves the Billion Dollar Babies. That year, ex-Cooper employees Mike Bruce (guitar, vocals), Dennis Dunaway (bass) and Neal Smith (drums) teamed up with keyboardist Bob Dolin and guitarist/ singer Mike Marconi and named themselves after Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies album of 1973, which was his biggest seller. Offering competent but unremarkable hard rock and arena rock that wasn't nearly as distinctive or as interesting as Cooper's own music, the Billion Dollar Babies recorded Battle Axe for Polydor in 1977.

The LP bombed commercially, and the Billion Dollar Babies never recorded a second album. Battle Axe has been out of print since the late 1970s and is unlikely to ever officially be reissued on CD.

Tracklisting: Too Young / Shine Your Love / I Miss You / Wasn't I The One / Love Is Rather Blind / Rock And Roll Radio / Dance With Me / Rock Me Slowly / Ego Mania / Battle Axe (Sudden Death) / Winner
