Whitemail (Pre Klaatu) - (I'm) Dreamdaying/Lonely Lover [7" single]

Terry Draper and John Woloschuk were both member of the band Whitemail before forming Klaatu together with Dee Long. Whitemail released only one single in 1971. Both tracks were written by John Woloschuk (under a pseudonym M. Phlumpe).

Many Klaatu related recordings are available on CD. Those that are not are getting harder and harder to find. The most difficult to find is the Whitemail single

Terry Draper
Civil War (and other love songs)
©2001 Magentalane Music BLP-CD 4030
Available at Terrydraper.com

Ex-Klaatu frontman Terry Draper has always had a fascination with the American Civil War, so he finally decided to write a handful of songs on the subject and group them together on one loosely conceptual album. “Loosely,” because the project still allows for other songs, like “All Over Morocco” and “One More Kiss”. The idea holds up better on the (not very) minialbum but its a good effort.

Terry Draper

Light Years Later

©1997 Permanent Press Recordings PPCD52705

Terry Draper rose to success in virtual anonymity as the drummer of the 1970's trio Klaatu, which caused a stir throughout the music business when their mysterious 1976 self-titled debut sparked massive media conjecture that the group was, in fact, a reconstituted Beatles. The album became a major hit, but when Klaatu was finally revealed to be a Canadian band with no real connection to the Fab Four their success waned. Klaatu disbanded in 1981.
-
Draper returned to music in 1997 with the release of his solo debut Light Years Later, which featured guest appearances by his former Klaatu mates Dee Long and John Woloschuk.

Klaatu Tribute CD
various artists

Long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...three musicians banded together and created some of the most amazing tunes ever to grace the celestial heavens. Their identities kept secret for a while, they were simply known at the time as "Klaatu." The band's first album 3:47 EST reverberated across the universe and caused a crack in the cosmic egg as their music sounded undeniably "Beatleseque." Beatle fans began their own magical mystery tour of sorts looking for clues in Klaatu's music and album covers if only to prove that both Klaatu and Beatles were the same musicians. But alas, over time it was eventually revealed to them that the "Beatleseque" group consisted of three very talented Canadian musicians by the names of John Woloschuk, Terry Draper and Dee Long.

This is a tribute album by various little known artists
