Ad Visser
Sobrietas
-
CD rip, 224 kbbs /Dino Records 2253 /Released in 1990.
-
Allthough this CD is titled Sobrietas it's not the same as the original release from 1982. It's more a kind of a sampler containing 5 tracks of the LP Sobrietas (tracks 2,7-10), 3 tracks from the Hi-Tec Heroes CD (track 4, 5 & 6 ) and 2 tracks were singles (1 & 3). Missing are "Overture in S", "March Of Hope", "Nostalgia for Earth" and the song Giddiyap a Gogo sung by Daniel Saluheka wich was a big hit in the Netherlands.
-
Despite the missing tracks it's a great Electronic, Synth-pop, Ambient experience.
-
Tracklisting:
1 Head Over Heels In Paradise (4:52) / 2 Delicate Balance (3:30) / 3 Hallucinado (4:20) Vocals - Maggie Reilly / 4 The Lone Hero (6:57) / 5 Futurian Symphony (9:16) / 6 No News From The Western Frontier (5:41) Vocals - Gary Brooker / 7 March Of Hope (4:50) / 8 Nostalgia For Earth (8:48) / 9 Relief Of Demorzan (5:28) / 10 A Last Farewell (4:00)

Davy Jones
Davy Jones
-
vinyl rip, 256 kbbs
Bell Records
Released in 1971.
-
His first solo album, "David Jones" was released in 1965, but didn't chart. In the fall of 1965, Davy was the first to be selected as a member of "The Monkees." Davy left the group in late-1970. The group reunited several times since then.
-
Soon after he left The Monkees, Davy signed with Bell Records to release his second solo record, simply titled "Davy Jones." The 1971 album contained the single, "Rainy Jane" charting at No. 52 in the USA. He sang "Girl" in a episode of "The Brady Bunch" (the most re-run episode of any TV show in history). Davy Jones did not change the world with this album, but he did put together a pleasing product.

Bramlaan - Aloft In A Balloon

In 1979 Bram Laan won the "vara's voorstelling", a new talent contest. Bram meets Don Willard who's got a recordingstudio (MusicFarm). Bram starts writing and recording with Don and the result is "Aloft In A Balloon" released in 1981.
-
Bram tells on his homepage that Jimi Hendrix is his main inspiration. He is also influenced by Peter Gabriel, Preisner, David Bowie, Prince, Sting and Deep Forest. The way Bram Laan sings resembles that of Peter Gabriel.
-
He uses strange soundeffects like thunder, rain, deformed vocals and walking on gravel. You might think that you get some weird psychedelic stuff but you don't. What you get is Electronic Acoustic Fantastic.

Hartmut Zinn - Heiles Land

DGG 2372155 (p)1982
mp3 320 Kbps Vinyl rip
-
In 1972 there was a guy named Mike Oldfied. He released his first solo album "Tubular Bells". Only two long instrumental tracks. But what an impact!
-
Ten years later a guy named Hartmut Zinn released his first solo album "Heiles Land". Basicly only two long and three short instrumental tracks. Every track of this album looks like an free Interpretation of an Mike Oldfield track. Especially "Tubular Bells" is his inspiration . It looks even more like Mike as Mike himself. But no impact at all...
-
No impact, but it could have happened if he had made it eleven years earlier :-) It's a nice album and a great one to let it hear to a Mike Oldfield fan and say: "Hey, I found a really nice Mike bootleg with unreleased songs" . Succes guarranteed.
-
Tracks: Barfuß im Gras (3:22) / Schmetterlinge (1:45) / Heiles Land Teil 1 (20:55) / Morgennebel (3:33) / Heiles Land Teil 2 (20:12)

Max Werner
How Can It Be... Like This?
-
Polydor 835 747-1
Released in 1988.
-
Third solo album by Max Werner, the former singer/drummer of Kayak. He didn't score a hit with this album but it's a good album with no flaws. He dropped the drum-heavy sound but added some great arrangements.
-
All songs were written, composed, performed, engineered, arranged and produced by Max. exept for "God Only Knows" wich was written by T. Asher & B. Wilson. The fragile "Die For You" is i.m.o. the best ballad Max has recorded.
-
Tracks: 1. And the rain... 4:35 / 2. Tomorrow 4:37 / 3. Heartache avenue 3:46 / 4. Déjá vu 3:50 / 5. I don't know what it is 3:59 / 6. God only knows 3:13 / 7. Something 4:04 / 8. Cars 3:28 / 9. Wendy 4:00 / 10. Die for you 5:25

-
Jupiter Records 6.24647 AP
released in 1980
-
VC-People is a project of Klaus Netzle who has made many recordings under various names. Carlos Futura, Claude Larson, VC-People and Tri Atma, its all Klaus Netzle. He also produced many electronic disco songs.
-
Klaus is one of the veterans of making music on a moog synthesiser. His first album as VC-People was filled with classical music called Galactic Classics and was released in 1979. He wasn´t happy with the result cause he felt he could´t do with the music what he wanted due to the well known compositions so he desided to make his own with the Mystery Of Bomarzo as a result.
-
Equipments used:
Synthesizer Roland, Oberheim, Moog, Seq from Roland and Vocoder from Syntovox.
-
If you like Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Ambient or Mysteries then this is something for you. If you are only into Pavarotti or Wolter Kroes then you´d better skip this one and leave a comment about what the **** you are doing here :-)
