Fred Wolf - The Point Cartoon

The Point tells the story of Oblio and his dog Arrow through narration and song. The Point is narrated by Ringo Starr and has songs written and sung by Harry Nilsson.

This allegorical classic had a simple but swear message –accept everyone for who they are and not force them to fit into a preconceived conception of who they should be.

Absolutely amazing. I haven't seen this since I was a teenager, more years ago than I care to mention.

I spent quite a long time trying to find a copy of this so I could watch it again.

Thank you so much.

Thanks! I also echo the last comment about this long-forgotten animated film classic. I always liked the U.S. version, which is the exact same film but was narrated by Dustin Hoffman instead of good o' Ringo. There was a 3rd version done in the 80's with narration done by actor Alan Thicke too, believe or not!!

The Ringo version was the one chosen to be released on DVD, the copy you have here, but the other two were dumped I'm told. Luckily for me, I managed to get the Hoffman version on another blog.

Personally, I hope that "the powers that be" keep their greedy paws off this film in hopes to do a "Re-imagined" remake version...The sweet charm of this film is too good to be messed with.

BTW: The voice of Oblio, our hero in case some of you guys out there may not know, was none other than Bobby Brandy himself Mike Lookinland! (There was a musical play version of this story too. Read it over @ Wikipedia).

Once again..Thank!!
